Parent Infant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
Parent Infant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
A unique professional training open to UK and overseas applicants
This is a unique professional training in parent infant psychoanalytic psychotherapy. The course is based upon a sound psychoanalytic understanding and also draws upon learning from other key fields, such as infant psychiatry and the latest findings of neurological research. The training brings a practical approach to working therapeutically with parents and their infants.
The training is available in London or online. As well as UK trainees, we have had trainees taking part in this training from elsewhere in Europe and from Africa, Asia, the Americas and Australasia.
This is the only training in this field that can lead to registration with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy.
Following its most recent organisational review by the UKCP, the review committee offered the School ‘its warmest congratulations and good wishes for the further development of your important work within the field of psychoanalytic psychotherapy’.
Why This Course?
Parent Infant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy recognises the crucial role played by early intervention. Early experiences exert powerful influences upon the way that infants become integrated and form attachments.
This training gives a sound psychoanalytic understanding, central to which is the trainee’s personal therapy and growing capacity for self reflection.
This is a thorough professional training to become a psychoanalytic psychotherapist who works with parents and their infants. Graduates can become registered psychotherapists who are qualified to work either privately or within an organisational setting.
