Using Assessment Scales & Essential Material and Techniques for parent-infant psychotherapist
The Intensive Weekend Workshop is made up of two 6-hour days where you will learn:

• How to use the Acquarone Assessment Scales for the start and end of treatments in a confident manner, being able to display graphical changes in both mother and infant interactions.
• How to scaffold correctly – there will be hands-on participation with others.
• How to investigate and (actually) use tools, materials, toys, crafts and books (what to use, how to use and when to use!).
• How to set up and do different sensory-style sessions, and the reasoning behind these styles.
• How to set up sessions and work in a psychotherapeutic sense…in this hands-on interactive manner.

There will be a one-hour lunch break (lunch is not included, however, there are both a fridge and microwave facilities), and a morning or afternoon thirty-minute coffee break where refreshments and biscuits will be provided. We are also encouraging participants to meet and greet after the Saturday session for drinks to network and interconnect with other professionals and trainees.

4:00 pm – 5:30 pm Planning setting up sessions – logistics, steps and reasoning / Questions and thinking together how to intervene with meaning and structure

Dr Stella Acquarone is an Adult, Child and Parent Infant Psychotherapist. Her focus is on better early identification and intervention, including identifying early signs of autism, before obvious pathology develops. Her approach is ‘The issue is the potential, not the harmful’. She is the author, contributor to or editor of many books, articles and journal papers.

Dr Isabel Jimenez Acquarone is a psychologist and Scientific Psychologist, Temperament Consultant & Parent-Infant Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Director of The School Of Infant Mental Health (established 1990), and Director of Research Parent Infant Clinic.
